Abstract

Bridging the Gap: Integrative, Weight-Inclusive, and Menopause-Centered Approaches to Women?s Health Women?s healthcare remains fragmented?particularly for midlife women navigating perimenopause, menopause, weight gain, sexual health shifts, and mental health transitions. As a physician triple-boarded in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine, and certified in Menopause and Aesthetic Medicine, I bring a unique, integrative lens to whole-person care that honors the complexity of this life stage. This session will explore how providers can implement a comprehensive, evidence-based model for women?s midlife health that blends medical management, lifestyle intervention, and compassionate aesthetic and sexual health care that meets a woman where she is. Using real-world patient vignettes, I will discuss: ? How hormonal changes intersect with weight gain, metabolic risk, and body image ? Weight-inclusive and culturally competent approaches to managing obesity in midlife, most importantly incorporating movement into life while meeting a patient where they are ? Evidence-based strategies for hormone therapy, non-hormonal treatments, and menopause symptom relief ? Addressing libido, vulvovaginal atrophy, and sexual self-esteem with sensitivity and skill alongside the orgasm gap. Addressing sexual health into overall health and prevention with respect to genitourinary syndrome of menopause. ? Incorporating aesthetics (e.g., skin, hair, and body treatments) into wellness-focused care The talk will also touch on barriers to equitable care for women and propose a multidisciplinary, person-centered model that can be applied in both clinical and nursing/midwifery practice. Attendees will leave with actionable insights for transforming how we care for women?not only adding years to life, but quality to those years. ________________________________________ Target Audience: ?
