Abstract
Nano herbal delivery systems: A Novel Approach for better efficacy: A herbal nano delivery system is a nanotechnology-based approach to encapsulate, protect, and deliver phytochemicals using nano carriers. This is an attempt to overcome difficulties involved in the conventional herbal formulations for enhanced therapeutic efficiency.
Key features of nano herbal formulation are Enhance bioavailability of poorly soluble phytochemicals. Provide targeted drug release. and Improve stability of herbal formulations.
Various types of nano herbal formulations includes: Liposomes, Nanoemulsions, Solid Lipid Nanoparticles(SLNs), Polymeric nanoparticles, cubosomes, phytosomes and Metallic nanoparticles.
Advantages of nano formulations over conventional formulations encompasses Enhanced therapeutic efficacy, Improved patient compliance, Reduced dose frequency and Lower systemic toxicity
