Louis is a sustainability leader and strategist with experience spanning corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, and the intersection of business, law, and investment. He currently serves as Sustainability Manager at Golden Energy and Resources, where he drives decarbonisation initiatives and explores innovative solutions in the energy, metals, and mining sectors. As CEO of Greenbix, a sustainability start-up, Louis further applies his expertise in strategic planning, operations, and stakeholder engagement to advance practical and impactful solutions.
An MBA and LLM candidate, Louis is deepening his expertise in business strategy, legal frameworks, and investment solutions, with particular interest in distressed companies and private equity in renewable energy. He has completed a Professional Certification from MIT and has been recognised globally through programmes such as the UN Sustainable Living Programme and UNITE 2030. With leadership experience as President and Chairperson across organisations, he is committed to fostering collaboration, championing innovation, and building sustainable, long-term value.

The surge in demand for critical minerals?essential for Asia?s clean energy transition?has led to intensified mining activities across the region, challenging operators to balance economic growth with urgent sustainability and legal obligations. This session will examine solutions that mining operations are adopting to cut emissions, including solar, wind, and biofuel integration (non-exhaustive).
Special attention will be given to regulatory and legal frameworks shaping industry practice, from emerging ESG standards and responsible stewardship principles to local laws governing biodiversity, indigenous land rights and participatory community engagement. The session highlights how mining decisions and emission-reduction strategies can be aligned with biodiversity and ecosystem resilience goals?addressing both risks and opportunities for sustainable outcomes.
