Dr. Meng Cao is a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory after obtaining his PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Cao has been focusing on modeling coupled thermal-hydraulic-mechanical (THM) processes in fractured and faulted rocks and their application to subsurface energy storage and utilization. Topics of interest include geological sequestration of CO2, induced seismicity, enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), and hydraulic fracturing.
