"Class II Malocclusions from Analogic to Digital Treatment, Were We Are Now."
Class II Div 1 Malocclusion represents, in general, about 20 % of the population; 76% have skeletal two bases, an open cranial base angle is related to a mandibular retrognathia, the more extended base cranial base is associated with prognathic maxillary, may have small mandibular and large maxillary, may have average, or reduce lower face height or increased, the treatment could be orthodontic camouflage or orthognathic surgery. For orthodontic treatment, include functional appliances, klöehn headgear, extractions of first upper premolars and second lower premolars, fixed functional appliances, mini-implants, temporary anchorage devices and aligners, among others. Technology has significantly advanced the treatment of all types of malocclusions; these advancements have led to more precise, efficient, and personalized treatment with the aid of 3D Scanning, Cone Beam CT (CBCT), Digital X-rays, Computer-Aided Treatment Planning (CAD/CAM), Virtual treatment planning, 3D-Printed Appliances, Precision Appliances like Invisalign aligners and other types of aligners. The integration of digital tools, advanced materials, and customized treatment planning has made the treatment of class II malocclusions efficient, precise, and tailored to individual needs. However, some claims about the predictability of tooth movement treatment with aligners exist.
