Biography

Dr. Sameer Yousof Rizg is a highly skilled Consultant Family Medicine Physician with over 10 years of experience in clinical care, education, and healthcare management. He holds both Saudi and Arab Board certifications in Family Medicine and has extensive experience in inpatient and outpatient care, as well as in mentoring and training medical residents. Dr. Rizg has contributed to several research projects, published articles, and presented at numerous national and international conferences. He has held leadership roles in quality improvement initiatives, including as a Quality Champion and JCI Champion. In addition to his medical practice, he is involved in various community outreach programs and has a passion for advancing clinical education and patient safety.

Abstract

Gastroentritis impact on general health and proper aproach

Abstarct:Gastroenteritis, is an inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, affecting the stomach and intestines. It is most frequently caused by viral infections, particularly norovirus and rotavirus, although bacterial pathogens like Salmonella and Escherichia coli can also be responsible. The condition is characterized by symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and fever. Transmission typically occurs through contaminated food, water, or direct contact with infected individuals. While gastroenteritis is usually self-limiting, leading to recovery within a few days, it can be particularly dangerous in vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
