Abstract

A Prospective Vision for the Role of Educational Leadership in Cancer Awareness Programs and Encouraging Early Detection: This study aimed to explore the role of educational leadership in promoting cancer awareness programs within educational institutions, with a focus on the importance of encouraging early detection. The study also seeks to identify effective educational leadership strategies for raising awareness among students and faculty about cancer and the importance of early detection, which contributes to reducing the number of late-stage cases that are difficult to treat. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach, where data was collected through questionnaires distributed to a group of educational leaders and teachers in various schools. Interviews were also conducted with a number of doctors specializing in cancer treatment to assess the level of awareness among the target groups. Health education policies in educational institutions were analyzed to provide a comprehensive view of the extent of educational leadership's influence in raising awareness of this vital field. The study targeted educational leaders in schools, teachers, and students from various educational levels. In addition, a focus was placed on mothers in the school community, with the aim of expanding family awareness and strengthening the family's role in encouraging early detection. Awareness programs led by educational leaders are expected to contribute to increasing students' awareness of the importance of early cancer detection, leading to the promotion of healthy behaviors among young people. These programs are also expected to stimulate cooperation between schools and families, contributing to an overall improvement in the school community's response, increasing opportunities for early detection, and encouraging healthy practices. The main recommendation is the need to intensify educational leadership efforts to disseminate comprehensive cancer awareness programs. Intensive training should be provided for teachers and educational curricula should be developed that address the topic of early cancer detection to ensure students and the school community understand the importance of these healthy practices, contributing to changing societal perceptions and increasing the rate of early detection.
