Abstract

Bridging Biotechnology and Translational Medicine: Accelerating Drug Discovery Through AI and Biomarker Innovation Biotechnology has emerged as a transformative force in modern drug discovery, offering advanced tools that accelerate the identification, optimization, and translation of novel therapeutics. Recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI), omics technologies, and high throughput screening have significantly reduced the time and cost associated with drug development while improving the precision of candidate selection. However, a critical challenge remains in bridging the gap between laboratory discoveries and successful clinical applications. This presentation will highlight how integrative biotechnology platforms?combining AI driven drug discovery, biomarker identification, and patient-derived models?are reshaping the translational medicine landscape. Specific emphasis will be placed on the role of predictive biomarkers in patient stratification, the use of CRISPR-based systems for functional validation, and the application of computational drug repurposing for unmet clinical needs. Case studies from oncology and rare diseases will be discussed to illustrate the successful transition of benchside innovations to bedside therapies. By addressing both scientific advances and translational hurdles, this talk will underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in accelerating therapeutic development. Ultimately, the integration of biotechnology, data-driven discovery, and translational frameworks holds the potential to revolutionize personalized medicine, delivering safer, more effective treatments to patients worldwide Keywords: Biomarkers, Drug Discovery, Translational Medicine, CRISPR and Computational Drug Repurposing.
