Abstract

Role of Ayurvedic Bhasmas a Natural products working as a Nano medicines as a ancient approach for drug delivery system. Ayurveda itself is a established pathy from Indian subcontinent for the treatment of patients in a very sophisticated manner.Herbs from Ayurveda are giving relief for the various ailments without having any noted side effects.But it requires higher doses to get the therapeutic effects. Rasshastra is branch of Ayurveda having number of Metal Bhasmas working for multiple disorders with minimal doses and faster actions.A lot of work has been by researchers across the globe to prove the Bhasmas as a Nano medicines. This presentation reviews the ancient context of Bhasmas; current methods of preparations; research on going on the various Bhasmas and new technologies to prove them as Nano medicines. As well as attempt will be made to highlight the future research context of nano medicines and Bhasmas. Contribution to current drug delivery system in a better manner.
