Abstract

User Access Risk Review Problem Statement: Certification is a critical governance control to ensure that users maintain only the least-privilege access necessary for their roles. However, when a decision is made to revoke access, the manual fulfillment process often does not occur immediately. Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for revocation can range from 3 days to 2 weeks. During this window, users may continue to leverage their access privileges, potentially performing unauthorized activities within the system. Proposed Solution: Integrate the revoke decision with a user activity monitoring tool to trigger alerts if a user attempts to access resources while their access is flagged for revocation. Implement an automated mechanism to immediately cut off access as soon as misuse is detected. Leverage AI to monitor and manage revoke decisions across all system types, including legacy systems, homegrown applications, SaaS solutions, and infrastructure environments. This ensures real-time enforcement and minimizes risk across diverse technology landscapes.
