Abstract

Voice AI and IoT-Enabled Autonomous Vehicles: Building Safer, Greener, and Smarter Cities for the Future

As cities evolve to meet the demands of sustainability, equity, and resilience, emerging technologies are redefining the very foundation of urban infrastructure. This keynote explores the transformative convergence of Voice AI, intelligent interfaces, and IoT-enabled Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) as integral components of smart and sustainable city design. Grounded in real-world deployments and field-tested research, the session presents how “heads-up, hands-free” voice-command systems and AI-powered AVs are enhancing crisis response, reducing emissions, and enabling faster, safer interventions in urban emergencies—without the need for additional infrastructure. The presentation unveils a scalable framework for deploying AVs as mobile communication hubs equipped with real-time sensing, geolocation, 5G/V2X connectivity, and autonomous navigation—designed to perform even in obstructed or degraded environments. Drawing on insights from over 7,000 first responders and national CAV adoption studies, the keynote addresses key urban challenges such as connectivity gaps, trust in autonomous systems, and the lack of standard emergency protocols. With embedded blockchain, adaptive training, and ethical AI design, this session outlines a roadmap for integrating intelligent mobility into sustainable urban planning. Attendees will leave with a forward-thinking vision of cities where safety, resilience, and environmental responsibility are built into the very code of urban operations.
