Gonzalo Leyton is an economist with a Master?s degree in Economics from the University of Chile, specializing in health economics and mental health. He serves as an Adjunct Professor of Health Economics and is actively involved in the School's Mental Health Program. With over a decade of experience at the Superintendency of Health, he has contributed to numerous health reform initiatives since 2011, including leading roles in the GES Solidarity Compensation Fund and the Isapres Cost Reference Indices (IRCI). He has also advised the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy and served as a focal point for health indicators with the OISS. His research focuses on mental health, health system financing, risk compensation mechanisms, program evaluation, and health policy. He has authored several publications and continues to work on advancing public health policy in Chile.
